RestroBuddy

Legal

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026. Written with reference to India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and specific to what this website actually collects.

1. Who we are

RestroBuddy decides why and how personal data collected through this website is used. Under the DPDP Act we are the "Data Fiduciary" and you are the "Data Principal". This policy covers only this website, not the RestroBuddy POS, RestroBuddy Payroll or RestroBuddy Inventory desktop applications, which keep a restaurant's operational data on its own PC and are covered by a separate agreement at purchase.

2. What we collect, and why

Only two forms on this site collect personal data; nothing else does. We collect data only with your consent, given by ticking a box on the form.

Request a Demo

Data: full name, business name, phone number, email address, city, number of outlets, product of interest, your optional message, preferred contact method, and the page you came from. Purpose: to contact you and respond to your inquiry (a demo, a question, or a custom-software requirement).

Leave Feedback

Data: full name, email address, optional business name, product used, star rating and your written feedback. Purpose: to review your feedback and, only if you tick the separate publication consent box and we approve it, to publish it. If published, only a shortened display name, business name, product, rating and text appear. Your full name and email are never shown publicly.

Spam prevention

The IP address of a submission is kept only to block automated or abusive submissions.

We do not collect payment details, government ID numbers or precise location, and we use no analytics or advertising trackers (see the Cookie Policy).

3. Consent and withdrawing it

Consent is your free choice: no form is needed to browse this site, and each form's consent box starts unticked. You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by emailing the address in section 9. After withdrawal we stop using your data for that purpose and erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it. Withdrawing does not affect anything done before you withdrew.

4. Who can access your data

Submissions are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database and can be viewed only by authenticated RestroBuddy staff through a password-protected admin dashboard. We do not sell your data or share it for marketing. We use infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf as processors: Vercel Inc. hosts this website, a managed PostgreSQL database provider stores submissions, and Cloudflare, Inc. provides security and content delivery (requests to this website pass through its network, which may log connection details such as IP address). If notification emails are enabled, a copy of each submission is sent to our team through our email provider. These providers' servers may be located outside India, so your data can be transferred to and stored outside India.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it for. We erase or anonymise it when that purpose is fulfilled, when you withdraw consent, or when you ask us to, unless the law requires us to retain it.

6. Your rights as a Data Principal

  • Get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data, or update it.
  • Ask us to erase your data.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time (section 3).
  • Have your grievance heard and resolved (sections 8 and 9).
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or become incapacitated.

7. Children

This website is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. Please do not submit a form if you are under 18. If we learn we hold a child's data without verifiable parental consent, we will erase it.

8. Security, breaches and complaints

We protect your data with access controls, an authenticated admin area and standard web security measures. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires. For a complaint about how we handle your data, contact us using section 9; we will acknowledge and respond within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Grievance contact

Grievance / data protection contact: RestroBuddy team, [email protected]. Use this address for access, correction, erasure and consent-withdrawal requests too.

10. Changes and governing law

If what this site collects or why changes, we will update this page and its date. This policy is governed by the laws of India.
